Today, being the 25th is Rudolph Day once again, in fact as it also November it it the last Rudolph Day Challenge for this year. I can't believe a whole year has whizzed by since Mo, of Scraps of Life by Scrappymo, took over the hosting of this fun challenge. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank her for continuing to promote the friendly atmosphere between the participants each month and for the generous prizes.
So onto my card for this month, the stamp was free with a craft magazine recently. I stamped it with black Memento ink onto a snippet of white card, and coloured it with Promakers and Derwent Coloursoft pencils. I drew around the outside of a Spellbinder plain circle die and cut it out by hand. This was because the die was just a tad too small for the stamped image and the next size up was bigger than I wanted. I used a Spellbinder scalloped circle die to cut a mat from some red card and stuck the two together. I cut and folded an A5 size base card from matching red card, and trimmed a snippet of white card to fit the front leaving a narrow border. I ran this piece through my Cuttlebug with a NBUS Christmas words embossing folder. I am sorry but although the ef is new and only recently bought I didn't keep the packaging and I can't remember what make it is. The holly is part of a Cheery Lynne die, cut from a snippet of green card. with three red gems added for the berries.
I am entering this at Rudolph Day Challenge - Make a Christmas Card
and at Pixies snippet Playground - Use Snippets.
Thank you for taking time to visit here today and for your comments, I appreciate them all.

Beautiful card Jean - LOVE the robin, they always make me smile. And the EF is a stunner - fancy you not keeping the packaging or at least writing the name of the folder on it with a permanent marker. Are you in collusion with my Len to stop me from running off and buying stuff for the playground - and me of course!

Squeal!!! Oh I am soooo bad Jean! I Googled and then pulled up images of embossing folders with Christmas words on and found it!! It's a new Sheena Douglass one called 'Christmas Greetings'!! Ain't no secrets when Miss Marple is about :)
ReplyDeleteHave you seen Sheena's 'Frosty Ice Border' EF? It's also fabulous - I have it and one will be a prize in the Playground shortly. Am planning a bumper celebration over Christmas/New Year as it's also four years since I took the Playground over.
Excuse me, must dash, I have a folder (make that two) to order!!
More hugs
Di xx
Good grief, it's also 5" x 7"!! What a great size for larger cards, or to trim down as you did :)
ReplyDeleteDi xx
I'm glad you found it Di, I did wonder if it was a Sheena Douglas one because I bought it at the NEC show recently and I also got a couple of her stencils. I did buy quite a bit of stuff!! and when I came to sort it all out I couldn't remember who I had bought from.

Now when you say "cut it out by hand," Jean, what do you mean by that? Haha, remember those days when that's ALL we did?! This card is divine!! That e/f is especially awesome!! Enjoy your day!! Hugs, Darnell
