Hello everyone, Here I am a few days late for the Rudolph Day Challenge at Scraps of Life by Scrappy Mo, so thank goodness the challenge stays open until the last day of the month. I did make my card in time but I couldn't upload the photo from my camera. At the moment I'm not sure if this means there is a fault with the camera memory card or if it is a problem with windows 10 which I have only recently installed. Anyway this photo was taken with my phone and somehow I managed to e-mail it to myself, I'm sorry it's not very good and it's at an odd angle but I guess it's better than nothing.
The stamp I used is a new one from Chocolate Baroque, stamped with black Memento ink and coloured with Promarkers. I added Diamond Stickles to the candle glow for some sparkle. I used an embossing folder that was free with a magazine to frame the image and trimmed it close to the embossing. Next I matted it onto some red satin finish card
and then stuck it to a white 5" x 7" base card. The sentiment is also a Chocolate Baroque stamp, stamped with black Memento ink directly onto the card.
Thank you for visiting here today and for your comments all of which I really appreciate.
Jean
This card is so very lovely, Jean. I love the way you framed the image with the embossing folder...brilliant idea there.
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking part in the September Rudolph days Challenge.
Lovely card Jean, technology is a constant challenge! Xxx
ReplyDeleteYour card is lovely Jean. What a beautiful stamp and the embossing folder really works perfectly as a frame. Barbxx
ReplyDeleteA beautiful image, and colored wonderfully well. I like the shading on the poinsettia leaves, and the gleam that is haloed around the candle flames. The white embossing allows the red & green of the motif to show splendidly. The photo looks good to me and yay for you, in doing this with your phone. When I had win10 installed, nothing worked for me, with the wireless stuff, I couldn't get to pages I visit all the time, and now that I've reverted back to win7, I'm having sporadic computer crashes, so I think there is some kind of conflict between the 2 operating systems. My expert is coming over one of these days to clean up things. When his schedule was open, we had appointments, so still waiting. Good luck in resolving the problem. TFS & Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, Jean. The image looks lovely, framed by the embossing. xx

Beautiful card Jean.. love the embossing and the colours too ... very nice even with crummy photos.
ReplyDeleteHope you get that issue sorted out .. did you have your card in the camera when you took it? .. I ask because Yes! I have done that :D
If is Windows 10 would not be surprised as have stopped my download causing conflicts and did not want them. So now Windows 7 and wan to stay that way.
thanks so much for the inspiration!

Hi Jean,
ReplyDeleteforgot to say I hope your camera probs get sorted soon.
The photo of your card came out really good considering all the trouble you had.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
I am doing 'Catch up' as well, with nearly seventy posts to try to read, before I start another round tomorrow. That's a lovely set of candles. Well done on managing to get a photo up. It looks fine to me. You do such lovely colouring. My new stamps arrived today and I have printed off sixteen images so my pens will be out this week., I hope I manage half as well as you do! Kate x
ReplyDeleteI suspect the problem lies with Windows 10. We also downloaded it and it completely screwed up both our computers. We have taken them both to our computer expert to have it removed. He told us that it only works on some computers and makes a right royal mess of those on which it doesn't. However, that said, I love the card!
ReplyDeleteWell done you for installing windows 10. I spent a whole evening trying to manoeuvre everything on mine and it fell at the last hurdle due to the pants internet we have here.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Jean. I am slipping under the net right now as I did not get my RD card up!! Oops.
See you later this month as 25th will soon come round!
Hugs
