Good evening, I hope you have all enjoyed some lovely sunshine over the week end. It has been very pleasant here on the south coast. My husband forgot to take his hat with him for his bowls game on Saturday and came with a very rosy glow!!
I recently needed an anniversary card for my Daughter and SIL, and as I always make them pretty cards with hearts and flowers I thought I would try something a bit different this time. I decided to use these rather quirky stamps from Crafty Individuals mainly because I like the sentiment. The background paper is from Raspberry Road Designs, bought with a gift voucher that I won on Mrs. A's Butterfly challenge a while back. I had quite a job choosing as all their designs are fabulous, thank you Mrs. A.
Back to my card, I used a white 5" x 7" base card and cut some light grey card to fit the front leaving a small border. I then cut the printed paper a bit smaller again and stuck all these layers together. The geese and the words were all stamped onto snippets of white card with black Memento ink and fussy cut out. I added a little colour to the geese with Coloursoft pencils, and drew a line around the words with a black fine line pen. I used a spellbinder die to cut a heart from a snippet of vellum and then using a very small ball embossing tool and a foam mat I made a line of dots all round the edge. This was then stuck to the card front using just a little glue where the the geese were going to go. The geese were fixed with thin foam pads. I used a CI stamp for the butterflies stamped with a dark purple ink onto a tiny snippet of purple card, and the fussy cut out. I used one of them to anchor the top of the vellum heart which was wanting to curl up at that edge. At this point I thought it needed cheering up a bit and I had rummage through the tiny snippets box for some coloured bits and used an Xcut punch for the daisies and a Joanna Sheen Signature die for the leaves. I arranged them in the corner and added little coloured gems to the centers of the flowers.
I am entering this at Pixies Snippets Playground - Use snippets.
Thank you for visiting here today and for your comments, they are all really appreciated.

This is really pretty Jean and the geese are so cute and the Raspberry Road background suits it perfectly. That sentiment is lovely and the flowers, leaves and butterflies embellish it beautifully. This is a refreshing change as an anniversary card. x
ReplyDeleteI just love this one with those whimsical feathered friends! The vellum heart captured me immediately, and then there is that woodgrain background with those tiny flowers. What a perfect combination, completed with the perfect sentiment too! Great card!
ReplyDeleteQuite a different look for an anniversary card, but I LIKE it...LOTS! It's clever, cute & quirky and love the background treatment you have done. Also liked the detailing touches around the sentiment words. The sweet flowers added the perfect bit of 'love stuff' and I bet they were just thrilled with this one. Well done, Jean. And that sentiment is perfect too. Yay for you in being able to use some of your Mrs. A's prize winning. TFS & Hugs
