I have made this card using the Oriental Crane clear stamp set from Chocolate Baroque. I stamped the crane onto white card with Memento black ink and coloured it with Coloursoft pencils. The blue shading in the background was done using a duster brush and broken china Distress ink. After trimming I mounted it onto black card leaving a narrow border. Next I stamped and coloured the little oriental scene and the Birthday greeting on the left hand side of a larger piece of white card. I edged this piece with narrow black peel off strips. The back layer is a piece of oriental style paper from my stash cut to fit the base card, and then the other pieces positioned on top with the crane panel mounted with foam tape.
This card is for yet another man in the family with a birthday this month.
I am entering it in the following challenges,
Stamping Sensations - The Great Outdoors
Through The Craft Room Door - Anything Goes
Make It Monday - Anything Goes
CCEE Stampers - Pencils Please
Another lovely use of this stamp Jean. it is very versatile isn't it. Sylvia loved mine when I gave it to her today. I must have another go with the duster brushes. I like your hint of blue in the background. Kate x
ReplyDeleteI really like how you have used the Chocolate Baroque images Jean and bought the crane to the fore of your card and have achieved a lovely soft sky with think dusters.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing your lovely work with us at Stamping Sensations challenge.

Love your Oriental themed card, Jean. The sun is coloured in so well. And what a pretty, pretty image.
ReplyDeleteDelightful piece of designing with the way that crane is balanced by the scene & sentiment. The oriental patterned paper really sets the oriental tone too.

Stunning card, Jean! Those images are gorgeous, and beautifully coloured. The oriental background paper goes perfectly with them. Thank you for sharing it with us for our Great Outdoors theme at Stamping Sensations, and good luck.

Hi Jean, this is beautiful. I love the crane stamp, it looks lovely with the other image in the background, and I like the subtle colour.. I've been having a look in the CB store this evening - I didn't realise they sold mixed bags of Stampsmith stamps, but now I think I remember you telling me that you had bought some a while ago.
ReplyDeleteTake care Jean
