A Cute Card for Rudolph day

I see I've not posted anything here since last month's Rudolph Day Challenge and now it's come round again already. How does the time fly?
I don't generally do cute Christmas cards, but this Penny Black stamp caught my eye when I was ordering something else and I thought it would be fun to colour. I stamped onto white card with Memento black ink and coloured it with Promarkers. The base card is a 4" square ready made. I bought a pack of them in the Range recently, thinking they would be handy for making small Cristmas cards. I die cut the stamped image and a dark blue mat using Lil'inker stitched squares dies. Before sticking everything together I inked the edge of the image panel with Vintage Photo distress ink. As I expected I did enjoy colouring this and so I made a few more. As you
can see I varied them
slightly by using red
instead blue backgrounds,
and on one I cut the image
into a pointed roof shape.
I am going to enter this now at the Rudolph Day Challenge, where all that is needed to enter is to make at least one Christmas themed project or card. It is a lovely friendly challenge, so if you fancy getting a head start with your Christmas cards pop over and take a look.
I hope to come back soon, and next time I have got a picture of my finished blanket.
Jean

  1. These cards are so sweet Jean, they remind me of a school Nativity play :) Lovely colouring and I like how you've distressed them around the edges. Happy crafting, Sandra x

  2. What a sweet PB image Jean and beautifully coloured too, and the red and the blue backgrounds both go really well. I must start making a few multiple cards to make it less frantic when it comes to Christmas. x

  3. Great card Jean and lovely to see you blogging! Sandma is right, they do remind one of a school Nativity play - and the distressing around the edges really softens the images beautifully!

Maybe you'll make a card for the Playground sometime? :)

  4. Hi Jean,
I am not surprised you fell in love with that gorgeous stamp.
It's fantastic, and your designs, and colouring of it is outstanding.
I love the one also where it looks like a stable shape very clever thinking of that.
I agree doesn't time seem to fly from one Rudolf Day to another.
oh by the way Happy Rudolf Days.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

  7. I love this cute card, Jean! You should do cute more often! As to where time goes, I've written a letter to Father Time asking him that very question! I'll let you know if he answers, but he goes by so fast, I'm sure he can't read my blurry words!! Hugs, Darnell

  9. Hi Jean. Thanks for the great message on your blog about my challenge.

Your cards look so lovely. I like all of them very much but the one where you angled the card to look like a rood, really caught my eye!
Great colouring here on this very sweet image.

Thank you for taking part in the March Rudolph Days Challenge.

  12. Jean, I'm with you on the 'cutesy' images, but this one is just delightful (not cutesy at all). Your coloring is wonderful and of course I love the nativity theme. What a perfect card for anyone, but especially a small youngster to teach them what Christmas is truly about. Love that you had such fun, that you made multiples. That will certainly build your stash. PB has such great images! TFS & Hugs
