Hi to all of you who are wondering if I had hibernated for good. The truth is that to start with I had lots going on, but since then I have a big problem with the computer and it's still not resolved. It means that I can't use my blog dashboard to write posts or to see my reading list. I can do this on my tablet, and I have managed to do some commenting by this means, but I apologise for not keeping right up to date. However I really wanted to enter the Rudolph Day Challenge as I missed last months and I am way behind with my Christmas cards. I am trying to do this on my tablet, and it is very frustrating as I can't make my photo go where I want it to. I will attempt to post it when I,m done but I don't think I will be able to link it up to Scrappy Mo's for the Challenge from here though.
I used a new signature die to make my card, and cut it from a piece of white card which was cut slightly smaller than the front of the dark blue base card. Before sticking it down I put some double sided tape behind all the window openings and coloured the cut out bits with a yellow Promarker and put them back in place. I also stamped and embossed the star at this stage, using Versamark and WOW sparkle embossing powder. I stamped the wise men with part of a Stampendous stamp and the words are all Chocolate Baroque stamps. I used Brilliance Lightning Black ink for this, and then stuck the two layers together.
I shall now see if I can post this and maybe even link it to The Rudolph Day Challenge.
Thank you if you are visiting here today and for bearing with me, I really hope to get this problem sorted out soon. Any comments you leave are gratefully recieved, I hope to be back soon.
Jean
Sorry to hear you've had a nightmare with your computer, Jean, but really pleased to see that you've managed to link up your beautiful card to the Rudolph Days challenge. I love the design of your card - just stunning!
ReplyDeleteVisiting your blog today with my Rudolph Days DT member's hat on. Thanks for joining in the challenge this month - Good Luck! xx
No problem about the linking up part, Jean. You are still in the prize draw. There are always allowances made for computer problems. I have had that same problem when I use my Ipad to blog.
ReplyDeleteYour card is stunning. I am drooling over that wonderul die. IT is going on my Xmas wish list!
Your design is lovely...great idea to add the yellow windows and to glitter that star.
I have the stamp you used for the wise men and I will remember your trick of using the 3 Wise Men separately!
Thanks for entering the June Rudolph Days Challenge.
There is nothing more frustrating to a blogger than computer issues, but you did manage to get your card posted and it's a beauty! I love the navy blue background with the white diecut on top, and those gold accents make everything majestic! What a wonderful card showing the true meaning of Christmas! Well done!
ReplyDeletetell me about internet problems. We are up one minute and down the next on our main computers. My IPad is charging at the moment so I'm on my linx tablet which has windows10 installed. I do not like this new system at all. So frustrating not know where everything is. Hope you can get your problems sorted. My service provider is no help at all.
ReplyDeleteI like this die cut you have used. Love the starkness against the blue background. Hugs Mrs A.
oh dear technology problems are just yuk and soooooo frustrating....hope you get sorted, so you can share more of your lovely projects. Stunning scene, so elegant, classy and traditional xxx
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful Jean and the sentiments are just perfect for your card design. It's a lovely die cut and I bet you'll get lots of use out of it. Technology is a wonderful thing when it works and a nightmare when it doesn't. Hope you manage to get things sorted soon. Crafty hugs, Sandra X
ReplyDeleteHi Jean,
ReplyDeleteso sorry to hear you have had computer troubles.
I can quite understand how hard it is to comment or do anything with a tablet.
Your Rudolf card is a very wonderful design.
You can't beat white, and navy for a super looking card.
Fab idea the yellow marker on the window pieces that came out of the die cut.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
Glad you managed to post this fantastic card, its a wonderful Christmas scene.
ReplyDeleteHope your computer problems get solved for you soon.
Yvonne xx
Have been missing you in blogland Jean but didn't realise you had had such bad ongoing problems with your computer and do hope you will get it fixed soon. I find it nearly impossible to do anything connected to my blog other than a bit of commenting on a tablet so I take my hat off to you. This card is beautiful and a great die you have used here and I love the yellow coloured positive pieces for the light in the windows and the pretty embossed star in the background too. x
ReplyDeleteThis is stunning Jean! I have that die, as yet unused though and just love how you combine it with the three wise men. I might CASE the idea please, when I get round to it!

ReplyDeleteGood luck with the computer issues! Don't worry about visiting, people understand that "life" gets in the way. And sometimes you just can't sit at a pc, and spend all day commenting (which is very easy to get carried away with when you're enjoying fab cards). Like this one. Love what you've done with the die, and your inlay is so well done. The lights in the windows certainly shine out. Glad you were able to get it posted for the Rudy Day. I'm behind on commenting there as well, trying to catch up with people as I return visits at my own blog! Big hugs, TFS such a beautiful card, and take care.
