Hello again, as it is the 25th today I'm back with a card for the Rudolph Day Challenge at Scraps of Life with Scrappymo. The challenge starts today and is open until 31st of July if you fancy taking part. You just need to make something with a Christmas theme and there is a super MB die as a prize.
My card is made with a Crafty Indviduals NBUS stamp. I stamped onto white card with black Archival ink and coloured the images with Coloursoft pencils. I then masked each one in turn with post it notes and sponged in the backgrounds with various Distress Inks. I cut them apart with fancy edged scissors called stamp, which were bought many years ago when I did a craft shop class on postage art. I am not so sure this was a good idea now as I can see that I haven't lined them up very well. It looked OK 'till I saw it on the screen. The red mat is cut to the same size as the original stamp which has black dots between and around the images to simulate perforation. Next I cut a larger mat from green glitter card, and I used red line extra strong tape to stick the red mat to the glitter card because I have found in the past that ordinary double sided doesn't always stay stuck and I don't want to find them falling apart when I come to write them at Christmas time. The base card is a folded white A6 size and having fixed the main panel in place I stamped the holly with Olympia Green Versafine ink and coloured the berries with a Barn Door Distress Marker, and the sentiment with Barn Door DI. The holly stamp is from a Paper Artsy set and the sentiment is Chocolate Baroque.
Thank you all for visiting here today and for your comments, all of them are really appreciated.

A Smiley Card
Hi there everyone, it has been a while since I posted anything here, it's not that I haven't made anything, just not got round to blogging it. I also seem to forget to take the photos lately as well, especially when I am dashing off to the post box as soon as the card is finished.
Today I have a card with hardly any stamping on it, just the first part of the sentiment which is stamped using part of an Art Impressions stamp with Versamark ink and embossed with WOW Vanilla White embossing powder.
The base card is a white A6 size and the patterned paper is from a 6 x 6 Dovecraft pad that I picked up in the supermarket. The pad is called Curiosity Corner and this is one of the pretty designs. I trimmed one piece to fit the front of the card and used the off cut to die cut the smile word and to punch out some of the small flowers. The card I used for the mats is from a Papermania multi-colour pack containing 1 sheet each of 75 shades of textured card. This is available in A4 and A6 sizes, and I bought the smaller size as I wasn't sure how much I would use it, but it is a nice light weight card which is ideal for multi layered cards and it die cuts beautifully, so I think I will have to invest in the larger size as I have already used it quite a lot. I cut the mats with two sizes of Li'l Inker stitched rectangle dies, and stuck them onto the card. I die cut the word twice more from a snippet of ivory card and stacked them up with the patterned one I cut earlier and stuck it to the green mat. I used an X Cut punch and some tiny snippets of coloured card to cut more little daisy flowers and a Brittania die and a snippet of green card to cut some small leaves. Using a small ball embossing tool I shaped the flowers a bit and arranged them on the card with the leaves before sticking them down and adding some little pearls to the centers.
I am entering this at Pixies Snippets Playground - Use Snippets.
Thank you all for visiting here and for the lovely comments you leave, I really appreciate all of them.

Blue Butterfly
Hi there, today I have a card to show you which I made for a friends' birthday, but also made with the Butterfly Challenge in mind. The theme there this time is Butterfly + G is for gems. My base card here is a white 5" x 7" ready folded one from my stash. The patterned paper I think came free with a craft magazine some time last year, and I cut a panel to partly cover the front of the card. Both the oval and the flourish dies are from Dienamic. The oval is cut from smooth white card and the edges inked with Stormy Skies DI. The flourishes are cut from blue Papermania card, I had to trim these down a bit to fit on the card. I stamped the butterfly onto the oval with new stamps from Crafty Individuals. There are several different butterflies in the set and each one has two stamps, one to stamp the colour and the other to add the detail, this is the largest in the set. I used a Marvy Blending Blox ink pad with shades of blue for the first stamp, and Chipped Sapphire DI for the detail. I stamped it a second time on a snippet of white card and fussy cut it out. I fixed the oval in place with foam tape and glued the flourishes in place. I used gel glue to stick the second butterfly over the first one allowing the wings to be slightly raised. I then added some tiny blue gems to the body and to the edge of the oval. The birthday greeting is stamped with a Chocolate Baroque Stamp and Chipped Sapphire ink.
I am entering this at The Butterfly Challenge - Butterfly + G is for Gems, and as the oval, butterfly and backing paper were all snippets I am also entering Pixies Snippet Playground - Use Snippets. The butterfly is a creature so I can also enter at Stamping Sensations - Feature a Creature
