Just in Time

Hi everyone, I hope all your Christmas preparations are going well, not long now.
Some of you may remember that a few  weeks back when I showed you the little crocheted blanket I made, I said I wanted to knit a dress for my baby great granddaughter before christmas, well tah-dah!! I finished it just in time.
My daughter and SIL are off to Lanzarote on Tuesday for some winter sunshine and their daughter, my granddaughter and her partner and two littleies are going to spend christmas with her in laws, so we all met up today to exchange our gifts, so I needed the little dress to be done. I finished sewing it up yesterday morning. I'm sorry the photos are not very good, I took them in a hurry. The top one is the dress just after I had given it a light press, and in the one below I added the little pink t-shirt I bought to go with it. I had wanted to get some pink tights as
well but couldn't get any the right size, so I will have to try again when the shops restock.
Thank you for taking time to visit today and for your comments which I really appreciate.
Jean

  2. This is adorably sweet and what a precious gift to your gr. grand. Something that no one else can give to her, and I predict it will be saved as a treasured heirloom (at least I hope so! It should) I'm in awe of your crotchet skills. Love the tiny bib front and the hem trim. It's really pretty alone, but most stunning with the tiny t-shirt. Isn't it fun to buy these tiny items? Hope you can find the right tights to finish off the outfit. Merry Christmas, TFS & Hugs too. Thanks for the prayers. Much appreciated.

  3. What a treasured Christmas dress you've made for your DGD! Your knitting is superb, and it brought back memories of how my mom always hand-knit dresses for my daughter when she was little too! I loved my daughter's dresses then, and I love your dress now! This will be a family keepsake for years to come ;)

  5. This is so cute Jean and the little t-shirt goes perfectly. I haven't knitted or crocheted anything for years but I do fancy making one of your blankets, and I have been looking at the Tunisian crochet which is fascinating too. Maybe I will give it a try over the holiday, and I hope you have a lovely Christmas too. x
