It is a colour challenge at Less Is More this week and the colours are the colours of a bonfire, red and orange. I decided to use this image from the Chocolate Baroque plate, Fantastic Florals. I began by stamping the image onto paper and cutting out the square to use as a stencil for the back ground colouring. I positioned the stencil over my white square card slightly toward the top right hand side, and used DI in Antique Linen, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade, Rusty Hinge, Fired Brick and a little Aged Mahogany to fill it in. Next I removed the paper and stamped the image with Aged Mahogany over the inked background. I coloured a small piece of card to match and stamped the the butterfly corner of the stamp over it and cut out just the butterfly. I fixed this with silicon glue to raise it's wings a bit, just off the bottom left corner of the image to cover the smudge I made when trying to get the stamp in the right place. To finish the card I added an orange dotty ribbon tied down the left hand side. Thank you for taking a look, I really apreciate your comments. Jean.
I am also entering this for Stampavie and More; Anything Goes
and Make it Monday; Anything Goes.
Beautiful card Jean. Lovely colour, so rich and warm. Dianne.
ReplyDeleteLovely Autumn colours again Jean. A very striking card. Guess what? I want to at least stamp a sentiment in that white space at the base. It's a good thing you know what I'm like! But it is still a lovely card. Kate x

ReplyDeleteI really love your card Jean it's inspiring me today. I'm from Australia and recently bought that set of stamps online- I didn't even notice the butterfly in the corner of the stamp I was looking at the set for the butterfly. I too have been making cards for almost 20 years and love it, find it's a therapy and fills in lots of alone hours and giving and receiving cards is a wonderful personal way of keeping in touch with my special friends and family. Have a beautiful day
